ABSTRACT
The traditional method of de-hulling legumes such as cowpea, soya beans and locust beans is by rubbing the seeds between the palms or by pounding in mortar but this process consumes time and energy and in some cases unhygienic. An improved wet legume de-huller was designed and fabricated at the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), Ilorin to de-hull wet legumes with the aim of reducing drudgery encountered by agro-processors while de-hulling different leguminous seeds to the barest minimum which will impact positively on their ability to process and utilize these legumes.
